The Department of Mining Engineering is a part of College of Technology and Engineering (C.T.A.E.), a constituent college of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur for imparting education in Mining Engineering along with six other branches of engineering.

The Department of Mining Engineering was established in 1957 in Udaipur to impart diploma in mining and mine surveying and in 1996, it was raised to degree level to cater the demand and need of the mining sector with an annual intake capacity of 20 students. The department has its own building with all infrastructure facilities and modern well equipped laboratories i.e Mine computing laboratory, Rock mechanics & Dimensional Stone Laboratory, Mining and Mineral Processing, Environmental & Geology Laboratory, Survey Lab. etc. and a departmental library having good number of books. Department is situated in the heart of mining activities, so that students get practical exposures with theory part. We have a unique way to imparting field based knowledge, in which guest faculties from renowned fields like DGMS, DMG, IBM, HZL, RSMML are invited.

 

 

The well qualified faculty members had kept pace with the technological advancements to pass on the best of their part to the aspiring scholars. The department is running M.Tech in Mine planning and Doctoral programs. The department also solves industry problems through research activity and scientific consultancy.

We have signed MoU with Hindustan Zinc Limited, R.K. Marble Ltd, International Marble Institute, Napoli, Italy, Centre of Development of Stone (C-DOS) for research work, training to students, technical talk by industry experts etc. Our faculty helped in setting up a test house of international standard at C-DOS Jaipur. We have good industry linkage with surrounding mining industries such as

PLACEMENT

Placement of Mining Engineering Students is almost 100% every year. Our students (Alumni) are successfully working in India and abroad in companies like HZL, RSMM, DMG, GMDC, ACC, Aditya Cement, Vikram Cement, Wonder Cement, Udaipur Cement, Lakshmi Cement, BHP Australia, wolkem etc and many more reputed organisations. Our Alumni has also established their business as Entrepreneur i.e. Mr Anshul Rathi & Mr Puneet Verdia
