Department of Processing and Food Engineering is presently engaged in various courses of undergraduate of B.Tech. (Agriculture), postgraduate M.Tech. (Processing and Food Engineering ) and Post Harvest Engineering) and Ph. D. (Processing and Food Engineering). The department is well equipped teaching and research facilities along with with 25 staff members. The teaching faculty is professionally sound with doctorate degree and rich experience of teaching and research. Presently nine post graduates and four Ph D Scholars are pursuing their studies. Research and development related to Extrusion, Modified Atmospheric Packaging, Processing and value addition of bottle gourd, Safe storage through plant derivatives, Cryogenic processing of spices is also being carried out.

  • To produce world-class business leaders, develop globally competitive processes and technologies and international best practices in the area of food engineering, entrepreneurship and management.
  • To carry out R&D in frontier areas, develop world –class technologies and assist the Government in policy making on food processing. 
  • To be a prime academic institution in the areas of food engineering, entrepreneurship and management, the college will offer courses and training programmes of global standards with optimal mix of inputs on food processing, management and entrepreneurship. 
  • To offer continual training to the industry to enhance their skill and be updated on global trends in food research and technology by consultation with the stake holders.

Objectives

  • To provide a strong base of agricultural processing and food engineering in the undergraduate programme leading to B.Tech.(Ag.)Degree.
  • To offer post graduate programme in agricultural processing and food engineering leading to M. Tech. (Ag.) degree in Processing and Food Engineering and Post Harvest Engineering.
  • To offer courses in agricultural processing and food engineering leading to Ph.D degree in agricultural processing and food engineering.
  • To conduct research in agricultural processing and food engineering leading to process, control, product and equipment development.
