Workshop on Cloud Computing
 
Cloud Computing has revolutionized the computing scenario in computer science. Nowadays many service providers use cloud computing to provide various services. It also created a gap between current curriculum and industry requirements; hence, we plan to bridge this gap with the help of this workshop. The workshop focuses on basic tools and techniques used for cloud computing. We are inviting speakers, who is working in this area for many years and have good expertise of the subject. Rich experience of the speakers will make huge impact on the participants. The workshop consists of theory as well as hands-on practice, which will help participants to have some knowledge about the tools used for Cloud Computing. The program is intended for the UG final year students of our institute.

Big data with characteristics of volume, velocity and variety has revolutionized the data management scenario in computer science. It also created a gap between current curriculum and industry requirements; hence, we plan to bridge this gap with the help of this workshop. The workshop focuses on basic tools and techniques used for big data management, and then advances towards the security and privacy concerns with big data. We are inviting speakers from Industry, NITs and other well known institutes, who is working in this area for many years and have good expertise of the subject. Rich experience of the speakers will make huge impact on the participants. The workshop consists of theory as well as hands-on practice, which will help participants to have some knowledge about the tools used for big data management. The program is intended for the faculties, PhD research scholars and PG students.

One day Workshop on "IT Origin and Evolution" organized at the department in association with the Computer Society of India- Udaipur chapter on 19th June 2010.

Use of mathematical formulation was recommended with reference to the quote of renowned Heinrich Hertz 1857-1894. "One can not escape the feeling that these mathematical formulae have an independent existence and an intelligence of their own, that they are wiser than we are, wiser even than their discoverers, that we get more out of them than we originally put into them".

A two-day National Workshop on E- Resources Management for Excellence (ERME-2010), organized at the department in association with Computer Society of India- Udaipur Chapter, during 20-21 July, 2010.

Workshop comprised of many expert lectures on E-Resources and Hands on exercise on Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA) was given by Mr. V.R, Mehendale for Informatics (India) Limited, Bangalore covering the resources available at MPUAT through CERA, How to access this resource, The search strategies for an effective search, The journals facility to provide alerts on Journal updates, besides customization of alerts for individual users, Necessity of CERA and its advantages, Practical online search demonstration for the participants.

 

Young Talent Search in Computer Programming 2010
First level regional contest for Young Talent Search in Computer Programming 2010 was held at Department of Computer Science & Engineering, College of Technology and Engineering, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur on 25 July, 2010. Regional centre co-ordinator and Secretary, CSI Udaipur Dr. Dharm Singh, has guided the students about the rules and format of the examination and provided all infrastructures for the contest.Twenty students participated from seven different schools from Rajasthan.

A two days National Workshop on "Quality Assurance Services for Software and Web Applications (QASSWA-2010)",organized at the department in association with Special Interest Groups-Wireless Networks (SIG-WNs) Computer Society of India- Udaipur Chapter, during 20-21 August, 2010

   

Prof. S.S.Chahal in his augural address shared his views about the Quality Assurance Services for Software and Web Applications in rural areas. He said in 11th five year plan Government of India allotted budget of six thousand cores for Information and Technology and a lot of work can be done in the rural areas for the development of farmers and their betterment

   

Ms. Heena Rathore, MPUAT student showed the various installation steps of Cygwin and NS2 for Windows XP/Vista of this testbed and showed some research results of her BE project work. This test bed will serve as experimental testbed for the students of CS, IT and EE in the subjects such as Computer Networks and Multimedia System.

A three days 25th National Convention of Computer Engineers and National Seminar on Networked Home Systems and Services(NHSS-2011)", organized at the department in association with the Institution of Engineers (India) IE(I), Udaipur local centre during 4-6 Feb, 2011. 

Prof. S.S. Chahal Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur (MPUAT), inaugurated the event. In his inaugural speech  he highlighted the need for focus on Information Technology in reaching the masses to improve their lively hood.

   
  • The seminar highlighted the requirement of basic research on the mathematical models of computer engineering to further enhance the computational efficiency of various services, application and programs and for facilitating the same, there is a strong requirement of liberal funding for such mathematical investigations and real time application & investigations.
  • The seminar also highlighted the requirement of greater focus on evolutionary techniques in computer engineering, as the Computer Engineering domain is evaluation sensitive.
  • Greater emphasis of the need for a strong national broadband policy focusing on making India top broadband nations and the polices consistent towards this goal should be made feasible and easily assessable to the research community.

A three days International Conference on Emerging Trends in Networks and Computer Communications (ETNCC2011), organized at the department in association with the Institution of Engineers (India) IE(I), Udaipur local centre, during 22-24 April, 2011.
Conference focused on:

  • Smart metering, home automation technologies and ICT solutions will be adopted for increasing efficiency, loss reduction, reduce energy theft and for efficient data collection for better energy accounting in the electrical sector.
  • Make use of social network and wireless networks technology for enhancing the connectivity between farming community.
  • For better bandwidth management swarm intelligence techniques may be used.
  • Active identification of malware to reduce attacks on data and privacy of the citizens.

A three days 27th National Convention of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and National Seminar on IP Multimedia Communication (IPMC-2011)", organized at the department in association with the Institution of Engineers (India) IE(I), Udaipur local centre during 14-16 October, 2011. Prof. S.S. Chahal Hon'ble Vice- Chancellor, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur (MPUAT), inaugurated the event.

The main aim of the convention and conference was to provide a national forum for experts, intellectuals for industry and academia to exchange information and ideas on ongoing research in the field.

International Conference on Communication and Networks (CoMNeT) 2011 provided an open forum for researchers, engineers, network planners and service providers targeted on newly emerging algorithms, communication systems, network standards, services, and applications, bringing together leading international players in computer Communication and Networks. The event  positioned as a major international annual congress for the presentation of original and fundamental research and engineering results.

Objectives of the Seminar  –

(i)     To increase awareness of ICT models for development of agriculture, health, education and rural infra structure.

(ii)   To study the scope of current technological innovation for ICT application and assessment of future requirement.

CSI Student Branch CTAE and BSNL, Udaipur organized a Quiz Competition

On the occasion of 12th BSNL Day on 8th Oct., 2012, CSI Student Branch CTAE and BSNL, Udaipur organized a Quiz Competition. The quiz included multiple questions on BSNL services such as mobile and broadband services, data cards and blackberry.  3G data usage of 1GB free download for one month was awarded to 8 winners.

 

 

2nd National Student Project Contest, 16 March, 2013

     

2nd National Student Project Competition, organized by Computer Society of India, and College of Technology and Engineering (CTAE).

Prof. S.V. Raghwan, Scientist Secretary, Principal Scientist Advisor to Govt. of India, addressed the house in 2nd National Student Project Contest and told about oppurtunities and challenges in Computer world. Chief Guest in the ceremony was Dr. D.K. Mishra while the Guests of Honor were Professor at Delhi University, Dr. R.K. Vyas and President of CSI Udaipur, M.L. Talesara. The program was led by CTAE’s Dr. N.S. Rathore.

 

First Prize was given to SaichandUputuri and Alakhnanda Vempalla of K.L. University, Guntur (MP). They had made Advance Authentication System by using Behavioral Biometrics. 

 

The second award was won by two students- Suryamani Sharma of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon for Multifunctional Robotic System and Phagun Singh Baya of CTAE for Remote Wireless Sensors Analysis and Controlling.

 

Kalyani Joshi and Madhuri Jadhav from PES Modern College of Engineering, Pune secured third position for making an innovative project on ‘USB to USB data transfer without computer’.

AWARENESS ABOUT SWACHTA PAKHWADA - (1 TO 15 Sept-2016)

     

Government of India has launched a nationwide cleanliness initiative in the form of "Swachhta Pakhwada” from 1st to 15th September, 2016 under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, announced by the Prime Minister, focusing on cleanliness and hygiene. Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is a platform where all of us have a chance to participate. By imbibing Swachhta, i.e. cleanliness, in our day to day activities we can help make our local surroundings and our cities more Cleaner, Greener and Beautiful place to live in. 

During the Pakhwada several cleanliness activities were initiated on and off the institute campus. The first activity on this Mission was initiated on 1th September 2016. Some of the cleanness activities conducted during the Swachhta Pakhwada are listed below: 

1. The importance of cleanliness and sanitation was highlighted among the student. 

2.  Inspection of Sanitary Facilities. 

3. Teachers Day Celebration with focus on Swachhata. 

4. Removal of waste material like broken furniture, unusable equipments etc from various labs.

5. Carrying out cleanliness activities in and surrounding places of the CS and IT department.

6. Banners are pasted at various places in Dept. Of CSE and Dept. of IT to motivate and encourage students to maintain Swachta.

 

15 SEPTEMBER, 2016 ENGINEER'S DAY CELEBRATION

     

     

On 151th birthday of one of the greatest son of India, Dr. M. Visvesarvaya, 15th September, 2016 Engineer's Day was celebrated by the students of CSE and IT department of CTAE, Udaipur. The program was organized by students from IT Department which included events like Aptitude Quiz, Technical Definitions and Coding Contest. The program lasted for 3 hours and was very well received by the students of Department of CSE and IT. Before beginning the events the importance of the day and achievements of Dr. M. Visvesarvaya were highlighted.
