The Department of Basic-sciences was reshaped in the year 1996 by merging three basic departments, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Before this, these departments were running with individual capacity since 1964. Recently, the English unit has also been added to the department.
The Department of Basic-sciences is one of the supporting departments, but it is well established in the College of Technology and Engineering (CTAE), and has a highly qualified and distinguished faculty. The Department offers various courses in areas of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English at undergraduate level to the Engineering students. This department also offers various courses in Mathematics at Post Graduate (Agriculture and Electronics and Communication) and Ph. D. level to the Engineering students.
