NSS

The NSS aims in developing the inner potentialities and transforming the students mentally to fit into the society to which he/she belongs.

With the objectives of NSS, it is there to develop multidisciplinary personality of the student youth so as to gain skills in mobilising community participation, acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes, develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters, etc. along with their academics.

The NSS Units of CTAE has been fulfilling the objectives of NSS by encouraging and supporting active participation of youth in the process of socially valuable and nation building activities and has also been important in development of personality of the youth.

 

NSS volunteers of CTAE, over the period has contributed in-

Training Programme on Social Entrepreneurship
Five NSS volunteers attended a three day Training Programme on Social Entrepreneurship held during April, 15-17, 2010, at Bangalore, organised by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbundur. The volunteers who attended the programme were namely- Ms. Ridhi Chaplot, II yr B.E. (IT); Mr. Manish Kataria, II yr B.E. (Mining); Mr. Tanuj Jain, I yr B.E. (IT); Mr. Suhail Kutub, I yr B.E. (CS) and Ms. Shalini Jain, I yr B.E. (IT).

Best NSS Volunteer Award
Best NSS Volunteer Award in the Academic Session 2009-10 for the Block year 2007-09 was given to Ms. Arunima Patodia, III Yr. B.E. (Elect.) at college level annual function held on 12.05.2010.

In the closing programme of the National youth Festival, 2011 two NSS Volunteers were felicitated by the Chief Guest Shri M.S. Gill, Union Minister of Sports, Government of India, Prof. S.S. Chahal, Vice-Chancellor, MPUAT, Udaipur and Dr. N.S. Rathore, Programme Coordinator, NSS, MPUAT on rendering services in the festival. The students awarded were Ms. Ridhi Chaplot, III Year B.E.(IT) & Mr. Manish Kataria, III Year B.E.(Mining).

Van Mahotsav
The NSS volunteers, college students and the staff members planted 100 saplings in the college premises on 30th August 2010. On this occasion they took oath to plant more and more trees motivate people for plantation for keeping the environment clean and keep healthy ourselves and the society. The dean of the college Dr. R.C. Purohit stressed over energy conservation aspects and measures to curb the environmental pollution. He also told the students to take care of the saplings planted during their degree programme. About 100 students and 50 staff members were present in the programme. The programme was organised in collaboration with the Forest Department, Government of Rajasthan and Rajasthan Patrika, Daily Newspaper. Sh. R.K. Jain, DFO was present on the occasion.

Save Environment Message
By way of using used/discarded paper cartoons, the NSS volunteers made 30 dustbins on 27.11.2010 and tried to communicate the message of keeping our environment clean amongst the students of the college. The students used the biodegradable material only in making these dustbins, which were made jointly by about 60 students in 2 hours only. The prepared dustbins were placed in different departments of the college thus giving clean environment messages.

NSS Special Camp
NSS Special Camp of 7 days was organised during March 8-14, 2011 which was attended by 80 Volunteers. The theme was Happy & Healthy Youth through YOGA.

National Youth Festival, 2011
National Youth Festival 2011 was organised at College of Technology and Engineering during January, 12-16, 2011, under the aegis of Dr. N.S. Rathore, Programme Coordinator, National Service Scheme, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur and the Regional Centre, National Service Scheme, Jaipur.

The event was attended by 350 NSS boys and girls volunteers covering 32 States and Union territories all over the country.

The inaugural event of National Youth Convention was organised in the AVP hall of the college on 13th January, 2011. The dignitaries present on the occasion were Shri A.K. Upadhyay, Secretary, Youth Affairs; Shri B.K. Sinha, Secretary, Rural Development; Dr. M.V. Rajeev Gauda Professor, IIM Bangalore; Dr. Jeetendra Nagpal, Sr. Consultant Physiatrist Moolchand Medicity, New Delhi; Dr. N.S. Rathore, Programme Coordinator, NSS, MPUAT; Shri Satish Sawhney, Deputy Programme Adviser and Nodal Officer NYF (NSS); Mrs. Sarada Ali Khan, Director (Youth Affairs) and Programme Advisor, NSS and many others were present.

NSS Suvichar programme was organised on 14.01.11 in which key speakers were Shri M. Azaharuddin, M.P. Lok Sabha and Miss Sinny Jose, Gold Medallist, Asian Games. The Suvichar Programme continued on 15th in which dignitaries were Smt. Jayati Chandra, Secretary DONER and Shri Subba Rao, NYP.

On 15th January closing of the NSS convention was held in which Shri M.S. Gill, Union Minister of Sports, Government of India was the Chief Guest. Professor S.S. Chahal, Vice-Chancellor, MPUAT, Udaipur presided over the function. Dr. N.S. Rathore, Programme Coordinator, NSS, MPUAT presented the sports and NSS activities of the University. A special dance was performed by the students of the university in front of the delegates.

In successful organisation of the event, 50 volunteers of the Unit-II, participated and contributed a lot. Also Mr. Suhail Kutub, II Year, B.E. (CS), Mr. Hemant Sharma II Year, B.E. (Elec.) II Year and Ms. Sacchi Gandhi, II Year, B.E. (Electro.) were associated with the SAARC delegation, which rendered their services. Also, Ms. Ridhi Chaplot, III Year B.E. (IT) was attached to the Director, Youth Affairs and Programme Adviser, NSS, New Delhi.

During this period Rajiv Gandhi National institute of youth development organised a Career Mela to impart knowledge and information; make the students sensitize and aware regarding various career options for higher education and employment potential courses.

Blood Donation Camp
A blood donation camp was organised by the National Social Service, Unit-II of CTAE on 3rd March 2011. The one day camp was organised in the college premises with the help of Department of Pathology, R.N.T. Medical College, Udaipur in which total of 109 units of blood (107 students and 2 staff members) were donated and more than 150 students got tested their blood groups. Lot of enthusiasm and zeal was seen amongst students of the college. For almost all students, it was the first instance to donate blood, first time in their life for the benefit of the mankind.

Republic Day Celebration
NSS Volunteers participated in the March past held on the occasion of Republic Day Celebration on 26th January, 2011 at University level. Prof. S. S. Chahal, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, MPUAT was the Chief Guest of the occasion. The Dean, Directors, Faculty members and students of MPUAT were present.

Service to Deaf & Dumb Students
About 40 NSS Volunteers made a service on Feb.19, 2011 to Deaf and Dumb students' school run by the Theosophical Society of India. There they gave food to 35 students and understood the problem of these boys and girls, as well as supported them morally.

College Youth Festival
In the annual college youth festival, a group of NSS Volunters made a special dance appearance under the banner of NSS in front of 800 students on 5th March, 2011, which was appreciated by all.
